Marseille were handed a heavy 5-0 defeat away from home at the Ligue 1 leaders PSG in last weekend’s French top flight action but Roberto De Zerbi’s side now return to their Orange Velodrome for this Saturday’s encounter against 7th placed Strasbourg with a solid home record behind them.
The hosts have recorded a mixed bag of results in all competitions in recent times as Marseille have picked up four wins, a draw but also three defeats, although two of the three losses were incurred in the Champions League
Results on home soil at the Orange Velodrome though have certainly been encouraging for Roberto De Zerbi’s side as they hold a solid record of 7-2-1 27/11 which includes a comprehensive 3-1 victory against Lens last time at home in Ligue 1.
Strasbourg also suffered defeat away from home in Ligue 1 last weekend when Gary O’Neil’s side were dealt a disappointing 2-1 loss on the road at bottom half outfit Le Havre, making it back-to-back defeats in the domestic top flight.
The visitors had previously collected back-to-back wins in Ligue 1 at the expense of Metz and Lille along with a 3-1 home win against Monaco in the Coupe de France so Strasbourg may still fancy their chances at the Orange Velodrome on Saturday afternoon.
However, Strasbourg may come undone once again on the road this weekend as the visitors have produced a poor looking away record of 3-2-6 17/20 so far in this season’s Ligue 1 campaign.
