Queens Park’s mini revival in the Scottish Championship was brought to a sudden halt last weekend when Sean Crighton’s side were handed a 1-0 loss away from home at Dunfermline Athletic which left Saturday afternoon’s hosts sitting third from bottom in the table.
Queens Park had previously registered back-to-back league wins against the likes of Ross County and Greenock Morton respectively along with a point gained in a draw with St Johnstone, so the home side are capable of achieving a result at Ochilview Park on Saturday.
The bigger picture shows Queens Park have collected just three wins from their last 10 matches overall in all competitions whilst slipping to six defeats and a draw, so the prospects of a home win here seems to hang in the balance.
Airdrieonians sit second from bottom in the Scottish Championship table and just two points below their upcoming hosts as they too look to secure a valuable three-point haul in order to ease their relegation worries.
The visitors picked up a precious three points though thanks to last weekend’s 3-1 home win against Greenock Morton which was no doubt helped by the fact that Morton had two players shown red cards.
However, four defeats in their last five matches in all competitions also suggest Airdrieonians may struggle to collect the maximum points on the road at Ochilview Park on Saturday afternoon as they possess an away record standing at 4-3-6 13/16 which includes a 1-0 loss at Partick Thistle last time out on their travels.
