Following four straight defeats in the Scottish Championship, Saturday’s upcoming hosts Greenock Morton will have been mightily relieved to have returned to winning ways last weekend when they registered a 1-0 win away from home at Ayr United.
Recent losses to Queen’s Park, Airdrieonians, St Johnstone and Partick Thistle have resulted in Greenock Morton sitting third from bottom in the Championship table but they still possess a useful five-point cushion over second from bottom outfit Ross County ahead of this weekend’s action.

An earlier 4-2 home win against Dunfermline Athletic was followed by four straight draws, two of which were on their travels at Partick Thistle and basement dwellers, Airdrieonians, while an overall away record of 5-4-6 15/18 suggests the visitors may have their work cut out on Saturday lunchtime.
