Nantes picked up another point last time out in the French top flight courtesy of a 0-0 stalemate away from home at Auxerre but nevertheless, Vahid Halilhodžić’s side’s winless run in Ligue 1 was extended to five matches overall.
Nantes had previously slipped to three defeats on the trot in the domestic top flight, suffering damaging losses at the hands of Lille, Angers and Strasbourg respectively but the two subsequent draws including a 0-0 draw on the road at Metz might just give Sunday’s hosts a bit of a boost.
The second from bottom hosts will therefore be desperate to improve upon what is a poor looking record at home which stands at 2-2-10 14/26 when they entertain 11th placed Brest at their Stade de la Beaujoire on Sunday afternoon.
Onto Brest then, and the visitors have also experienced a bit of a speed-bump in the road in recent weeks in Ligue 1 as Eric Roy’s side have lost each of their last three matches on the trot in the domestic top flight.
Recent losses to Monaco, Auxerre and Rennes, the former two defeats both being away from home, are in danger of undoing their previous impressive work of putting together a six-match unbeaten run in Ligu 1 which included collecting four wins in the process.
It should also be noted that three of their previous four wins registered in the domestic top flight were achieved on home soil at their Stade Francis-Le Ble, while results away from home have been tough to achieve within an overall away record which stands at 3-3-8 14/26 to date.
