Ecuador find themselves under pressure after suffering a narrow 1-0 defeat to Ivory Coast in their opening match.
That result leaves little room for error, especially with Germany waiting in the final round. Sebastián Beccacece's side were solid defensively against the Ivorians but lacked creativity in the final third, something they must improve quickly.

Dick Advocaat's side now face a different challenge. Against Germany they were expected to defend for long periods; against Ecuador they may see more of the ball but will still enter as underdogs.
Avoiding another defeat would keep their slim qualification hopes alive heading into the final group match against the Ivory Coast.
