Arsenal
The defending Champions of twelve months ago won a number of opening fixtures, but Liverpool did not impress massively and certainly not as much as Arsenal have done in the early part of the 2026/27 season. No one will be crowing them for a second season in a row in September, but Mikel Arteta's squad looks settled and have grown from winning the title in May.
The Gunners are one of two teams who have won all of their Premier League games this season and the expectation is that they will need to fight it out with Manchester City yet again across the next several months. They have a 2-0-0 record away from home and Arsenal have scored 3 goals and kept a couple of clean sheets in those opening games.
Arsenal have won 12 of 13 games in all competitions since the 1-1 draw at Atletico Madrid in the Champions League Semi Final First Leg, while the win at Sunderland last weekend makes it 9 straight successes in the Premier League. The side have won the last 6 away games in all competitions, including winning at Ipswich Town in the League Cup Third Round on Tuesday.
Ben White and Cristhian Mosquera are expected to miss this game.
Head to Head
Arsenal did the Premier League double over Brighton last season and also beat them at home in the League Cup.
The win at the Amex Stadium was extremely controversial, but does mean Arsenal are unbeaten in 7 games here and have won 5 of those.
Prediction
After the opening performances of the season, the layers are not going to be taking any chances with the Arsenal prices when it comes to winning football matches.
They were not at their best last weekend and Sunderland's missed Penalty turned the momentum of the match, but Arsenal simply do not concede many goals and they have enough talent in the final third to believe they can break down any opponent.
It has been the way they have won both away Premier League games, but Arsenal have also shown their explosiveness in creating chance after chance in the 0-1 win at Napoli.
Mikel Arteta's team will definitely be encouraged by what they have seen from Brighton defensively, although this is going to feel like a revenge mission for the home team.
Fabian Hurzeler was not happy with the officials in the 0-1 home defeat to Arsenal and the admission his team should have been given a Penalty probably did little to improve the mood. The Brighton manager had not been the most complimentary of Arsenal ahead of that fixture either, but Hurzeler has to use the fuel of the unjustness of some of the decisions in that last League game to push his players forward on Saturday.
Brighton have been looking pretty creative in the final third, which will give them plenty of belief, but they will need to tighten up defensively if they are going to improve on a pretty poor home record against The Gunners.
Enough has been shown by Brighton to believe they can, and backing them with a full goal start feels like a push would be the worst case scenario.
However, if Arsenal play as they did last Saturday, Brighton may be a little more composed in the final third and hurt them where Sunderland could not and The Gunners may see the winning run ended.
