Analysis:

Fiorentina are coming into this match just after a defeat at home to a newly promoted side and Inter Milan will look to capitalise on that when they meet in this fixture.

But Fiorentina won in midweek beating Lyon and as a result knocking Liverpool out of the competition will surely help them here. That will give them more confidence as they approach this match. However, Fiorentina have been rather inconsistent this season while Jose Mourinho’s side have been winning games easily.

The signing of Samuel Eto’o and Diego Milito has helped eased the absence of Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Mario Balotelli is also another player who is on the rise. Dejan Stankovic also plays well behind the two strikers. Genoa and Palermo have both been hit by five goals by Inter this season.

Douglas Maicon will miss this match for Inter due to suspension. However, it will be Javier Zanetti rather than Davide Santon who replaces him, as the young Italian is sidelined with an injury. Dutch playmaker Wesley Sneijder also misses out through injury.

The good news for Fiorentina is that they will welcome back Stevan Jovetic, but Prandelli is likely to start him on the bench. Adrian Mutu misses out due to injury along with the likes of centre-back Alessandro Gamberini and the suspended Marco Donadel.
