Analysis:

Everton can go higher up then Fulham in the standings with a win over Hull City in the first of the two only English Premiership clashes of the day.

Everton can now fully concentrate on the Premiership after being knocked out of the competition by Sporting Lisbon. They will face Hull City who are currently in the bottom three and is favourites to get all three points.

The visitors are level on points with Wolves, but have lost their last two games in a row coming into this clash. They were beaten 3-0 by West Ham last weekend and the defeat at Upton Park was followed by another away defeat a 1-0 at Blackburn.

Apart from Portsmouth who seemed destined to go down after they entered into administration and preparing for a nine point penalty, the likes of Burnley, Wolves, Wigan, Bolton and Hull are still battling against the drop. Last season, Hull managed to stay in the Premiership on the last day, and now they will be eager to retain their premiership status once more.

However the Tigers will be hard pressed to get a result here considering that Everton are welcoming back their players after injuries and are looking their best once more.

As for the team news, midfielder Jimmy Bullard could make a return to the first team for Hull City. Bullard, who moved to the KC Stadium for £5million from Fulham in January last year, has been hampered with injuries since his arrival.

The 31-year-old has missed the last three months with a knee injury, but he has been building his fitness up and played 75 minutes in a behind-closed-doors game against Doncaster on Tuesday which suggest he could return ahead of this clash.

However, Phil Brown has stated that he will not rush the midfielder b ack until he is fully ready to start. Ian Ashbee is a long term absentee, while Dean Marney, Kamel Ghilas and Geovanni are also not expected to feature. Craig Fagan is out of this match after his se nding off against West Ham. Also Anthony Gardner suffered an injury at Upton Park and could be left out.

Everton comes into this match losing to Tottenham 2-1 last weekend. But that came on the back of a 3-1 win at home over Manchester United. The good news is midfielder Tim Cahill could return for this clash. The influential Australia international is still to return to training after suffering a calf injury two weeks ago but could make a comeback in this clash.

Phil Jagielka, recently returned from a long-term knee injury, is doubtful due to a slight thigh strain, together with Leon Osman after a blow to his foot.

Louis Saha is again ruled out with a hamstring injury and James Vaughan will be assessed after a slight knock while playing for the reserved in midweek. In defence, Philippe Senderos (hip) is hoping to prove his fitness but Tony Hibbert (groin) is still out. Marouane Fellaini will miss the rest of the season with an ankle injury.

These two sides have met each other twice this season. Hull Won 3-2 earlier in the season but Everton managed a 4-0 win in the Carling Cup. Hull City have not scored in their last four away games and that also includes 8 of their last 10 away games.
