Match Analysis :

Seven games without a win ended Manolo Jimenez’s two and a half year reign as the SEvilla manager last week. Antonio Alvarez was appointed as "caretaker" manager till the end of the season after Luis Aragones have rejected on joining the club. Antonio Alvarez did not make a good start as coach after Villarreal hammered Sevilla 3-0 at the El Madrigal.

The 3-0 defeat left Sevilla 8 games without a win now and if this continues, Sevilla can forget about European football next season. Sevilla are currently lying on 5th spot with 45 points, 2 behind Mallorca while they are level on points with Bilbao and only leading Deportivo by 3 points. With only 5 points separating 4th and 7th spot, Sevilla could easily missed out on the last European qualification spot.

Tenerife have lost 4 of their last 6 games on the road. In their last away game, Tenerife was lucky to escape with a draw as Alejandro Alfaro scored from the spot 5 minutes from time. With only 9 games remaining this season, Tenerife have still yet to record a win this season and have only collected 3 points on the road this season. A record that is almost certain to get them relegated.

Jose Luis Oltra will be banking on Juan Francisco Martinez to deliver him the goals as Martinez are their leading goal scorer with 10 goals. Tenerife have lacked quality in all part of the pitch and they have heavily relied on Martinez.

On the other hand, Luis Fabiano is Sevilla’s leading goal scorer with 9 goals. Antonio Alvarez will definitely be hopping the Brazilian could add to his 9 goals tally. However Sevilla does not only rely on Fabiano as Kanoute and Negredo have constantly came up with the goals.

Chaos is all over Sevilla after 6 games without a win in the League. However with Tenerife being such a poor team on the road, I can't imagine if Sevilla fail to pick up 3 points yet again. After a whooping 3-0 defeat at the hands of Villarreal, Sevilla are expected to bounce back to beat lowly Tenerife.

No doubt Sevilla are missing several key players but with the likes of Kanoute, Fabiano and Negredo up front, Sevilla have what it takes to edge this miserable away team. Another failure to win might even end their dreams of playing in Champions League next season.

With the handicap placed at -1.25, I might consider backing Sevilla as I expect them to bounce back. However with Sevilla having such poor record under the asian handicap line statistic, it is a tricky decision on this.

Nonetheless, I expect Sevilla to win. Therefore if Sevilla wins by a single goal margin, half your bet will be refunded if you choose to take Sevilla on the handicap.
