2011-01-24 - Bolton Wanderers vs Chelsea
A Sports Betting Pick by Cruiser
Analysis:Chelsea's title hopes are fading away fast and they know now is the best time to face Bolton as the host have been winless in their last four matches. Since Boxing Day Bolton have picked up just one point.
Chelsea knows they have a good record against Bolton so the home side may have to wait before they address their slide down the table. Bolton have failed to score in three matches against the Blues last season, in the league and Carling Cup, and have failed to keep a clean sheet against the Blues in 20 attempts.
And worst of all is that the home side have also failed to score in their last seven home games against Chelsea. In Premier League history which this is now the longest time any host team has gone without a goal against an individual opponent.
Chelsea are also unbeaten against Bolton in 15 matches in all competitions and have scored in the last 20 top flight fixtures between the two sides.
Carlo Ancelotti will hope his side can rediscover their form since his side seems to be losing their Premier League title hopes. The reigning champions did get back to winning ways last time out against Blackburn, but that was only their second win in 10 outings.
Their problem is that they have failed to win away from home with no wins and four defeats suffered on their last six trips away from Stamford Bridge.
At the moment Chelsea are 10 points behind leaders Manchester United and it will need something special from them if they are to retain their title this season.
As for the team news, former Middlesbrough defender David Wheater could make his debut for Bolton after successfully signing a three and a half years deal. Striker Ivan Klasnic (groin) and full-back Gretar Steinsson (knee) are doubtful through injury while Lee Chung-yong is on international duty at the Asian Cup with South Korea.
For Chelsea Frank Lampard will miss out while Captain John Terry is rated doubtful. Lampard has been unable to shake off a calf injury, leading to his absence, while Terry will be assessed before kickoff due to a back problem.
The likes of Alex (knee), Yuri Zhirkov (calf) and Yossi Benayoun (Achilles) are all out through injuries.
