Football: Romanian Liga 1
Venue: Stadion Municipal, Vaslui
Monday 7th March – Kickoff time: 20:30 GMT+2
FC Vaslui (3rd W-10 D-5 L-4)
Vaslui has been quiet this winter on the transfer market, coach Viorel Hizo probably considering that his squad is strong enough to finish on podium this year. The title is far at this moment, as Otelul has an important advantage, but a place on the podium will be a great performance for this team that has been unknown a few years ago.
Striker Lucian Burdujan left Vaslui to join Steaua Bucuresti, while Brazilian attacking midfielder has been excluded from the squad for bad behavior.
On their first match this year, Vaslui managed to collect all three points from their travel to Targu-Mures. After a poor first half, Wesley Lopez scored two goals that decided the game in Vaslui favor.
His performance is even more appreciable knowing that he wasn’t able to prepare with the team in the winter break because of an injury.
However, Wesley will not show up in this game because he was booked for the fourth time this season and he is suspended.
Vaslui is one of the strongest teams on home ground from the league, only losing one game so far and winning six.

Universitatea Cluj (13th W-5 D-6 L-8)
Universitatea failed to make a good debut in the second part of the championship, only drawing at home against FC Brasov. However, the result may not be considered bad, because Brasov humiliated Steaua on this stage, winning 3-0 in Bucharest.
Despite being on the 13th place from 18 teams, “U” is on a delicate position, only having two points more than Victoria Branesti, the first team that sits on a relegation place. Universitatea is not playing their home games in Cluj, because their stadium is under construction, so the lack of support on home games may be a decisive factor in their struggle to avoid relegation.
However, the fact that worries me a lot (being their fan) is that their game has no perspective. They do have players with good technique but their game seem slow, especially when playing on the road, not being able to create dangerous counter-attacks.
Universitatea’s away form:
06.12.2010 Liga 1 Etapa 18 Steaua 3 - 0 U Cluj
19.11.2010 Liga 1 Etapa 16 Rapid 3 - 0 U Cluj
07.11.2010 Liga 1 Etapa 14 Sportul Studentesc 2 - 0 U Cluj
22.10.2010 Liga 1 Etapa 12 FC Timisoara 2 - 2 U Cluj
01.10.2010 Liga 1 Etapa 10 U Craiova 3 - 0 U Cluj
