Match of the week as A.C Milan and Inter Milan go head to head against each other with both sides in superb form.

As it is now, AC Milan are unbeaten in 12, including 10 victories, in which they have scored 32 goals and conceded just eight. If that is not enough, it should be known that they are the joint Serie A leaders alongside unbeaten Juventus and the reigning title holders.

But make no mistake that Inter are a real threat and have won their last five games in a row now. The last time they achieved that feat was way back in Jose Mourinho’s time in May 2010. If Inter Milan wins this match then it would put them within five points of their city rivals and burst the race wide open.

For the record, AC Milan won the last three Milan have won the last three consecutive derbies, including a 2-1 victory in Beijing for the Italian Super Cup on August 6.

Inter Milan's last derby win was on was 2-0 on January 24, 2010.

Milan are without the likes of Mario Yepes, Mathieu Flamini and Antonio Cassano, while Alberto Aquilani, Luca Antonini and Taye Taiwo require fitness tests before kickoff.

There is a possibility that Gennaro Gattuso could make his comeback after four months on the treatment table with an eye condition. Alexandre Pato is expected to start from the bench after turning down a transfer to Paris Saint-Germain on Thursday, while their bid for Carlos Tevez is all but ended now.

Wesley Sneijder, Dejan Stankovic and Diego Forlan all hope to at least get a starting spot on the substitutes bench.

Sulley Ali Muntari is away on Africa Cup of Nations duty, while, Diego Milito finally rediscovered his scoring touch by scoring three in the last two games.
