Liverpool vs Everton
Football : English Premier League
Venue: Anfield, Liverpool
Sunday 5th May 2013 – Kickoff time 13:30

Match Preview :

Liverpool welcome Everton for the Merseyside derby and Brendan Rodgers' side must avoid defeat or else they will not be able to finish higher then them in the standings.

As it stands now, Everton sits five points clear of Liverpool with three games to go and looks likely to finish above the Reds for the second season in a row now. But Liverpool have not been beaten in their last five meetingss against Everton and will be confident after beating Newcastle 6-0 in their last clash.

Everton still has slim hopes of finishing in the top four as they are at the moment five points behind fourth-placed Arsenal in the standings. But it will be a difficult task as Moyes has not won any of his 11 previous visits to Anfield with the Toffees last win at Anfield coming 14 years ago.

Team News :

Liverpool Team News :
Luis Suarez is out of this match as he serves the second of his ten match ban. Daniel Sturridge, who scored twice in last weekend's win over Newcastle, will lead the attack in the absence of Suarez. Fabio Borini will start from the bench after he made a successful return from injury to score against Newcastle.

Martin Kelly and Joe Allen are out for the rest of the season, whilst Raheem Sterling also remains sidelined and his season is over as well. Jamie Carragher will play in his final Merseyside derby before he retires at the end of the season.

Everton Team News :
Everton arehoping that midfielder Darron Gibson can be available after he missed last weekend's win over Fulham with hip and thigh problems. Tony Hibbert will keep his place in the squad after making the bench last weekend following calf surgery.

Everton boss David Moyes has no other injury concerns to deal with, but he must decide who will lead his attack with Nikica Jelavic and Victor Anichebe both competing for a place upfront.

Prediction:

Go for Liverpool to get the win and give the 1/2 ball away.
