The team almost selects itself as we approach the Final, although there are perhaps one or two decisions that Luis Enrique may ponder until kick off.

The Coppa Italia Semi Final loss to rivals AC Milan was soon followed by Inter Milan missing out on the Serie A title by a single point to Napoli. This means that despite going into the season looking like the strongest team in Italy, Inter Milan have yet to pick up a significant trophy in this campaign.

There is one more opportunity to do that when Inter Milan travel to Munich for the Champions League Final on Saturday after overcoming Barcelona in an absolute barnstormer in the Semi Final. This is the second time in three seasons that Inter Milan will be entering the Champions League Final and as the underdog too.

Inter Milan are unbeaten in 6 games in all competitions, but 3 have ended in draws after regulation time, including the 2-2 League draw with Lazio on the penultimate weekend which has cost them the chance to be crowned Italian Champions again. The side have lost 1 of 14 Champions League games played this season and Inter Milan are unbeaten in 8. However, each of the last 3 Champions League fixtures have ended in draws after ninety minutes.

Simeone Inzaghi will need to pick his players up after coming agonisingly close to a title last week. His team are pretty set with consistent selections, barring any setbacks in training in the week of the Champions League Final.

Both Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan have had serious ambitions around winning the Champions League in recent years and both will be confident in their abilities to take this trophy home having negotiated the new format with some style.

It is Inter Milan who have perhaps had the most impressive victories with Knock Out tie successes over Feyenoord, Bayern Munich and Barcelona compared with Paris Saint-Germain's run of Brest, Liverpool, Aston Villa and Arsenal, but that does not count for much in the Final.

During that run, Inter Milan have suffered setbacks with the Coppa Italia Semi Final loss to rivals AC Milan and, even more importantly, losing the Serie A title by a point after giving Lazio an opportunity to equalise from the spot in injury time on the penultimate weekend. That will have stung the players and the manager, Simeone Inzaghi, is going to have to show all of his skills to pick them up and dust them off.

This will be a challenge, but there is also plenty of experience in this Inter Milan squad who reached the Champions League Final in 2023. Poor finishing cost them that day, but they have shown they can hurt teams in the Champions League Knock Out run.

Of course you do have to factor in the amount of goals that Inter Milan have been conceding with Bayern Munich and Barcelona combining for 9 goals in the 4 games played against the Italian Serie A club.

It will offer Paris Saint-Germain encouragement after Luis Enrique's team completed the domestic double last weekend.

Since really beginning to believe in the manager, Paris Saint-Germain have been a different team, while the addition of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has been a huge move made by the club in January. He has been an inspiration and Ousmane Dembele has been in incredible form and this all will give Paris Saint-Germain fans full belief in their team.

Both of the teams can be pretty solid when deciding to sit back and soak up the pressure and there is a chance that a tense, low-scoring affair develops with so much on the line.

However, the two managers have really been able to put their team in a position to be very dangerous in the final third and that cannot be ignored. Both teams have scored plenty of goals in recent Knock Out ties, but there are also one or two vulnerabilities that can be exploited and it may just see this Champions League Final end with three or more goals shared out.

Picking a winner is tough, but perhaps this is a season in which Inter Milan are destined to come up short and Paris Saint-Germain can become just the second French winner of the trophy.
