Aldershot were handed a fifth consecutive defeat in the National League on the weekend as John Coleman’s side suffered a 3-2 loss away from home at Woking, leaving The Shots in 18th place in the National League table.
Previous losses at the hands of Rochdale, Forest Green Rovers, Carlisle United and York City have prevented Aldershot from lifting themselves further away from the relegation zone but nevertheless, the hosts still hold a five-point cushion over fourth from bottom club Gateshead ahead of the forthcoming midweek fixtures.
Prior to this recent flurry of defeats, Aldershot had put together a promising seven-game unbeaten sequence which included collecting six wins, and Coleman will be demanding a response against Boreham Wood.
Onto Boreham Wood, and the visitors occupy 4th place in the National League standings following a comprehensive 3-0 home win against strugglers Gateshead on the weekend which also made it three wins from their last five matches overall.
Earlier wins against the likes of York City and Brackley Town along with the aforementioned victory over Gateshead were all recorded on home soil though at their Meadow Park ground but recent results on the road have been less convincing.
Indeed, Boreham Wood have failed to win any of their last three outings on the road, losing at Tamworth and Halifax and managing only a draw at mid-table outfit Woking.
Nevertheless, Boreham Wood still possess a fairly decent away record which stands at 8-6-5 41/29 which manager Luke Garrard will be hoping his side can use to get something out of this upcoming trip to the Recreation Ground.
The Betting Verdict
Aldershot stand a chance of a point here against a Boreham Wood side who have struggled on the road of late.
The Pick :
Aldershot 1-1 Boreham Wood
