Queen of the South will begin their Scottish League Cup campaign with a home fixture against Scottish League Two side Edinburgh City on Tuesday night at Palmerston Park with the hosts looking to erase the disappointment of losing in last season’s play-offs in League One.

The visitors finished in 3rd place at the end of last season’s League Two campaign but having ended up nine points below East Fife, justice may have been served in many people’s eyes with that play-off defeat.
Edinburgh City did not get off to the best of starts in last week’s opening group game of this season’s Scottish League Cup either as The Citizens were handed a heavy 4-1 loss at home by Partick Thistle and the visitors could once again have their work cut out here on Tuesday night as well.
