Bristol City 2-1 Crystal Palace AET (agg 4-2)

Lee Trundle and Michael McIndoe's goals put Bristol City one step away from the Premier League as they beat Crystal Palace in extra time to reach the play-off final.

A defensive mix-up allowed Palace's Ben Watson to score and level the aggregate score on 24 minutes with a fine header

And Watson had a chance in the second half to score from the pentaly spot but hit the post to give Bristol City a lifeline.

Although the Eagles had the upper hand against a home side sitting dangerously deep in the last few minutes it was Trundle who came agonisingly close to settling it in normal time only to see his chip bounce off the post.

A cagey opening spell of extra-time finally saw a breakthrough come with a moment of real quality from Trundle.

The former Swansea star collected a knockdown from Dele Adebola, trapped the ball and sent a delightful curling effort into the top corner.

Palace had no option but to commit players forward, and it was no surprise when a powerful free-kick from McIndoe flew in on 110 minutes to end the Eagles' hopes.
