The UEFA Champions League moves into extra time after the sides were locked at 1-1 after 90 minutes.

United had made the breakthrough thanks to Cristiano Ronaldo's 42nd goal of the season, the Portugal winger heading in at the back post in the 26th minute.

Chelsea equalised on the stroke of half-time after Michael Essien broke forward. His effort took two deflections before arriving at Lampard's feet.

He evaded Van der Sar to clip the ball beyond him and into the net to leave United stunned.
