NFL Thursday Night : San Francisco 49ers at Seattle Seahawks

So much for the anticipated clash between Trey Lance vs. Jimmy Garoppolo.

With both would-be starters injured and expected to miss the rest of the season, third-string QB Brock Purdy will be under center this Thursday night when the San Francisco 49ers visit the Seattle Seahawks, kicking off at 8:15 PM ET on Prime Video.

Despite these injuries and Purdy’s inexperience, the Niners (9-4 SU, 8-5 ATS) are 3.5-point road favorites at Bovada Sportsbook with a game total of 43.5 points for this NFC West matchup.

Purdy, the last pick in the 2022 NFL Draft out of Iowa State, won his first start this past Sunday with an impressive 35-7 trouncing of Tampa Bay (+3.5 away), although it was San Francisco’s running game that did most of the hard work.

The Seahawks (7-6 SU, 6-7 ATS) are performing better than expected with Geno Smith at quarterback, but thanks to their own recent spate of injuries, Seattle have cooled off at 1-3 SU and 0-4 ATS in their last four games to surrender the division lead to San Fran.

At least they’ll have the “12th Man” advantage at Lumen Field, where Thursday night’s forecast calls for mostly cloudy skies, light winds, and temperatures in the mid-30s.
