Euro 2008 News :: Euro 2008 Build up : Ryan Babel out of tournament for Netherlands

Ryan Babel has been ruled out of the Dutch squad for the Euro 2008 finals after suffering an ankle injury in training on Saturday.

The Dutch FA (KNVB) released a statement that said Babel tore ankle ligaments during training in the Dutch village of Hoenderloo.

Later reports have said that Boulahrouz has been named as a replacement for Babel.

The Netherlands are in Group C along with France, Italy and Romania for the June 7-29 tournament in Austria and Switzerland.
