Match report : Crows too classy for Carlton

A SPURT of three goals in two minutes during the third quarter has proved the turning-point for Adelaide in their Anzac round clash against Carlton at the MCG.

Adelaide, who received the benefit of a controversial double goal at the 18 minute mark of the final term when Jarrad Waite punched the ball away in frustration, ran away in the final minutes to win 16.15 (111) to 11.15 (81).

The Crows were three points down 18 minutes into the third term when Brett Burton nudged his team in front with the third of his four goals.

It was a spark for the Crows as Michael Doughty and then Andrew McLeod, with a classy left foot snap, took the lead out to 16 points.
