Everton

Everton's new signings Louis Saha and Segundo Castillo will not play but Lars Christian Jacobsen will.

Saha needs to undergo a medical before the deal is sealed while Castillo is waiting for international clearance.

Portsmouth

Portsmouth are hopeful Jermain Defoe will recover from a virus, while Jerome Thomas (back) is also rated doubtful.

Glen Little (thigh), Kanu (ankle) and David Nugent (groin) are out but Hermann Hreidarsson could return after being dropped on Monday.
