Austria handed France a shock defeat, winning 3-1 in Vienna. A Janko goal after eight minutes got things off all wrong for the visitors. Rene Aufhauser and Andreas Ivanschutz then added two more to seal the deal, making Sydney Govou's strike mere consolation.
