Spanish La Liga News :: Arshavin continues to be touted around - now Real Madrid are being linked

Andrei Arshavin's agent has claimed Real Madrid are favourites to sign the playmaker but there is also interest from England and Italy.

The Russian international was embroiled in a protracted transfer saga over the summer, with his agent Dennis Lachter naming a number of major European clubs none of which panned out.

The likes of Tottenham, Arsenal, Barcelona and Real were all mooted as potential suitors but a move failed to materialise as Zenit St Petersburg held out for a reported £18million asking price.

Arshavin recently confirmed he would be keen on a move to the Santiago Bernabeu but his agent has tried to suggest that the Spanish giants could face a battle for his signature in the January transfer window.
