Champions League News :: AS Roma injury woes continue with Cicinho out for six months

Cicinho's season is over after the AS Roma right-back was ruled out with a knee injury.

The 28-year-old Brazilian right-back was hurt in training on Sunday and scans have revealed a rupture of the cruciate ligaments in his right knee.

Cicinho, who has scored once in 22 Serie A games this season and made five UEFA Champions League appearances, was immediately readied for surgery and is likely to be out for six months.

His absence further weakens Roma as they attempt to overturn a 1-0 deficit when Arsenal FC visit for the second leg of their UEFA Champions League first knockout round tie on Wednesday.

Daniele De Rossi is suspended while fellow midfielder Simone Perrotta is out with a knee injury, and Francesco Totti, David Pizarro and Alberto Aquilani are all doubtful.
