Manchester City remain the UEFA Cup favourites but only after a massive scare in Denmark tonight.

Mark Hughes' men led Aalborg 2-0 from the first leg of their last-16 tie and looked to have done enough with the score at 0-0 in Denmark after 85 minutes played.

However, Aalborg struck twice in the last five minutes - including the aggregate equaliser in the 90th minute - to send the tie to extra time and then penalties.

In the shoot-out, keeper Shay Given proved to be the Manchester City hero saving two spot kicks as City won 4-3 on penalties.

That would have been a big relief to plenty of punters as the Betfair exchange was busy and more than £34,000 had been matched on Manchester City to qualify at 1.01.
