Robbie Keane controversially put Spurs ahead from the penalty spot after Gael Givet was adjudged to have handled.

Wilson Palacios was sent off for two bookable offences and Benni McCarthy soon dragged Rovers level.

With two minutes remaining, the visitors failed to clear an El-Hadji Diouf corner, leaving Andre Ooijer to tap in.
