Champions League News :: Benitez is ready to gamble on playing Steven Gerrard against Chelsea

Rafael Benitez is ready to gamble on Steven Gerrard's fitness as Liverpool try to overturn a 3-1 Champions League deficit against Chelsea on Tuesday.

Gerrard has a groin strain but Reds manager Benitez said:

"It is not a massive risk if we use him."

"If we lose a player for 10 to 14 days it will be bad but would only affect one game. It's a calculated risk."

"We've been written off but with Steven and Fernando Torres together on the pitch we have a good chance."
