Russian League News :: Rubin Kazan held to 0-0 draw at Zenit St Petersburg

Russian champions Rubin Kazan failed to extend their winning ways in domestic league as they were held to a goalless draw by Zenit at Saint Petersburg on Saturday.

Rubin Kazan remained top of the Russian Premier League's table with 28 points from 15 matches. However, second-placed FC Moscow, who are two points behind, now have a chance to go top if they win at Nalchik on Sunday.

Zenit, who won the Russian title in 2007, started lively and created an impressive set of opportunities after the break but Kazan, who were weakened on the 63rd minute when their full back Dato Kvirkvelia was sent off for the second bookable offence, defended well and earned a point.
