Europa League News :: Twente look to claim top spot against Fenerbahce

FC Twente will be looking to wrest top spot in UEFA Europa League's Group H away from Fenerbahce SK, with both sides potentially able to qualify for the last 32 on Matchday 5.

Twente will book their place if they win and Sheriff fail to take three points at home against Steaua Bucuresti while Fenerbahce will advance as group winners if they win in Enschede.

Previous meetings

Twente won 2-1 in Istanbul on Matchday 1 in their first game against a Turkish side.

Fenerbahçe are still looking for a first success in their eighth trip to the Netherlands, but following five defeats in their first five games on Dutch soil they have drawn their last two away fixtures against Eredivisie outfits.

Match background

Twente have lost just once in 13 games at their current home, the successor to the old Diekman Stadium, going down 1-0 to Olympique de Marseille in last term's UEFA Cup round of 32.

Their 2-0 loss to Arsenal FC in that season's UEFA Champions League third qualifying round took place at the Gelredome in Arnhem.

While Fenerbahce are unbeaten in four European fixtures on their travels, and Fenerbahce have won their last three UEFA Europa League away encounters without conceding a goal.

Twente visit Steaua Bucuresti on Matchday 6, with Fenerbahçe at home against Sheriff on the same night, 17 December.
