English Other News :: Carling Cup Semi-final : Blackburn P-P Aston Villa

The first leg of the Carling Cup semi-final between Blackburn and Aston Villa has been postponed because of the freezing weather conditions.

Rovers' Ewood Park pitch was playable, but police advised that the game should be called off as travelling conditions for both sets of supporters was unsafe.

Continuing heavy snow in the north-west region of England is also threatening Wednesday's other semi-final first leg.

Manchester rivals United and City are due to play at Eastlands in that tie.
