Spanish La Liga News :: Osasuna shock Real Madrid - Barcelona now lead by 7 points in Spain

Real Madrid's title hopes suffered a huge blow after they slumped to a 1-0 defeat at the hands of lowly Osasuna at the Reyno de Navarra stadium.

Javier Camunas scored that goal just after the hour-mark which consigned Madrid to only their second league loss of the season, but that leaves Real Madrid seven points behind rampant leaders Barcelona.

Lionel Messi scored two late goals as Barcelona beat 10-man Hercules to preserve Barca's 100 per cent away record in the Primera Division.

Pedro gave Barca the lead two minutes before the interval, but the win was still in doubt until Messi's late intervention, with the Argentina forward bagging two goals - after Javier Farinos had been sent off - in the last three minutes to give the Catalans a comfortable victory in the end.

Giuseppe Rossi's stunning goal was enough to give Villarreal an impressive 1-0 victory at in-form Espanyol.

Rossi raced clear in the penalty area and rifled home a ferocious left-footed drive from a seemingly impossible angle to give the visitors the lead moments before the interval.
