SC Paderborn let a good result slip away at Werder Bremen last weekend. Stefano Marino and Steffen Tigges put them 0-2 ahead inside 30 minutes, but Niclas Füllkrug scored twice after the break to make it 2-2. SC Paderborn were clinical with their early chances, yet they struggled to protect their lead once Werder Bremen increased the pressure.

Scoring remains a concern for Ralf Kettemann's side. SC Paderborn have managed just five goals in six Bundesliga games, although their 3-1 home win over TSG Hoffenheim showed they can cause problems when their forwards get good service. Their defensive improvement matters here. SC Paderborn haven't scored freely this season, so Hamburger SV's ability to keep the game tight gives them a good chance to control the match.

Hamburger SV also have momentum on their side, but a fourth straight win would be their first such run in 17 years.

Hamburger SV do have selection problems. Patson Daka is expected to miss several weeks with a thigh injury, Mario Vuskovic is suspended, and Albert Sambi Lokonga is listed as doubtful. Daka's absence reduces their options up front, while Vuskovic's suspension weakens their defensive choices.

Even so, Hamburger SV have enough confidence from their recent results to travel with a realistic chance of extending their unbeaten run.

I lean towards Hamburger SV, but I'd protect with the draw rather than take the straight win.

Their last three victories show a side growing in confidence, but SC Paderborn have some pressure and can be dangerous at home.
