2012-12-01 - Nottingham Forest vs Hull City
A Sports Betting Pick by Auls
Football: English Championship
Saturday 1 December 2012 - Kick Off 3pm
Nottingham Forest
Despite not currently sitting in the Play Off places, there is clearly not a lack of confidence at the City Ground as we are close to entering the busiest time of the English football season. Andy Reid has been telling the media that Nottingham Forest have one of the better squads in the Championship and that fans will now see the best of them going forward.
At the moment, Forest are 9th in the Championship after suffering a 3-1 loss at Ipswich Town during the week. The side have 29 points which means they only 9 points behind the pace set by Cardiff City and also shows what can happen if they do put a good run together. Forest are 4-3-2 at the City Ground, scoring 10 goals and conceding 9 in those games.
That defeat Portman Road means Nottingham Forest had a 4 game unbeaten run snapped and they had also won back to back League games before that loss. Forest have lost just 1 of their last 5 games at home, although they have only recorded 2 wins in their last 7 here.
Hull City
Steve Bruce continues getting the best out of his Hull City side and will be thinking he could bring in some loan signings in the January transfer window and bolster the sides promotion spot. I don't think many would have tipped this Hull squad as being capable of maintaining their position in the top six, but that is what Bruce will be looking to do.
Hull are 6th in the Championship and they are just 6 points behind Cardiff City in what is a tight Division. They are another of the leading sides that have earned a few wins on their travels this season and they will be bringing in a 4-1-4 record, scoring 11 goals and conceding 13 in those games.
The side haven't had the best of weeks as they earned just 1 point from a possible 6 in 2 home games in the last week and they failed to score in either of those games. Hull have been inconsistent away from home although they have interchanged wins and losses in their last 7 games, taking the full points in 4 of those games.
Head to Head
Hull City have beaten Nottingham Forest in 3 straight games, including back to back 0-1 wins at the City Ground in that time.
Hull have actually won on 3 of their last 4 visits to this Stadium.
Prediction
Recent games has seen both sides struggling to get goals, but I do like the chances of seeing over 2.5 goals in this one.
Hull City have been particularly free-scoring away from home, but it is also telling that they have conceded at least 2 goals in 3 of their last 4 away games.
My bigger concern is whether Nottingham Forest can take advantage of those vulnerabilities, but they have shown some signs that they are finding their scoring boots again so the 2.00 on offer for goals looks worth chancing.
The Pick :
Nottingham Forest 2-1 Hull City
BEST BETTING TIP :
I'll back Over 2.5 Goals @ 2.00
