Manchester United and Chelsea will be meeting for the 11th time in the FA Cup, with the Red Devils leading the head-to-head record by 8 wins to 2.

After the heartache of their European exit, Manchester United will look to the FA Cup and the Premiership as their target to claim the double. It will be interesting to see if Wayne Rooney will start this match after he was left out of the starting lineup against Real Madrid, but Sir Alex Ferguson said it was purely tactical and that he would be involved against Chelsea on Sunday.

Rafa Benitez will be glad that for once the media was not focusing on him, but instead the Rooney controversy. But it should not be forgitten that Chelsea are still the defending Champions of the FA Cup and should the Blues lose this match at Old Trafford, the fans will once again be calling for his head and he could depart Stamford Bridge even sooner before the season comes to an end.

Chelsea go into the game on the back of a 1-0 defeat to Steaua Bucharest in the first leg of their Europa League last 16 clash but, like United, the Stamford Bridge side are more concerned with a top four finish compared to the FA Cup.

For the record, Chelsea have never won in five previous FA Cup games at Old Trafford, losing four, drawing one and scoring just one goal in total.

Ferguson has confirmed Rooney will be involved when Manchester United take on Chelsea after being left out of the starting eleven. It waits to be seen if he will start the match or come on as a substitute however.

Jonny Evans and Shinji Kagawa were on the bench alongside Rooney for the defeat on Tuesday and could come into the side if Ferguson felt that the side needs to be freshen up. Ferguson admitted he thought he would be criticised after leaving out Kagawa who had just scored a hat trick against Norwich for the Real Madrid match.

Meanwhile, Ryan Giggs will not be involved after playing 90 minutes on his 1,000th senior appearance against Real, while Phil Jones is still working his way back to fitness after an ankle injury.

Chelsea Team News :
Chelsea manager Benitez has striker Demba Ba available again after the former Newcastle forward was ineligible for the Europa League in midweek. Ba could come into the starting line-up against United at Old Trafford in place of Fernando Torres, who continues to struggle in front of goal with just two in his last 18 appearances.

Ashley Cole and Juan Mata were only on the bench in midweek, while Ramires did not travel, and all three key men can expect to play at some stage of this match. Meanwhile, John Terry could be replaced by Gary Cahill in central defence.
