BETTING PREVIEW
I loved watching Blackpool play in the Premier League a few seasons before, and so I am thrilled we have Holloway back in the top flight with Crystal Palace, because he's going to have his team have a real pop at the other 19 sides. Don't expect any boring tactics from them.
Palace start their new campaign in the top flight knowing their last meeting with Spurs ended in a 3-0 win. So, there's reason to feel encouraged that they get them at home, and without their main weapon, Gareth Bale. Unfortunately, this is still a newly promoted side that allowed over 60 goals in the Championship last season, and they are going to have to deal with a Tottenham side that has just added Soldado and not exactly toothless. Don't expect a clean sheet here.
Tottenham are frustrated with the end of last season, missing out on the last day on a Champions League place, which may just cost them their star player. They have to make a serious statement here to show they are set for the European big time next year, or they will lose Bale before September 2nd. For that reason, I expect them to try and do a number on Palace.
Palace should be good for at least a goal, maybe two, if Holloway gets them playing the way he does with lower league sides. He got Blackpool to manage a few great scalps when they were playing in the PL and I think the trend of his side being involved in high scoring matches will continue.
THE BETTING VERDICT
I think we can try for a bigger payout and push the Overs to 3.5 here. Should be a goalfest.
