2007-09-01 - Manchester United vs Sunderland F.C
A Sports Betting Pick by Cruiser
Analysis:Manchester United who managed to get off with a first win over Tottenham last week will be aiming to continue their winning streak when they take on Sunderland with former Manchester United Captain Roy Keane at the helm.
United by their standards have started off poorly and will now want to set the record straight when they take on the Black Cats in this match. However, United must guard against complacency as two seasons ago United were the favourite to win that encounter with Sunderland but it ended in a 0-0 draw.
The Red Devils will still miss the services of Cristiano Ronaldo as he is still suspended for the red card offence, but will have the services of Louis Saha on the bench as well as Anderson. They are likely to keep faith with the same side that beate Tottenham which means Carlos Tevez leading the attack. Wayne Rooney though is making fast progress on the broken foot, is still out for this match.
As for Sunderland, though they got off with a good win over Tottenham late in injury time, it is hard to see them getting anything from this match as they have since suffered defeats against the likes of Wigan, going down 3-0, Liverpool 2-0 and in midweek even losing to Luton Town 3-0 in the Carling Cup.
Danny Higginbotham in his squad for the first time and they also have former United players in the form of Dwight Yorke, Andy Cole and Keiran Richardson coming up against the club they once played with. But Cole is out of fitness and at best will start from the bench.
At the back, defender Greg Halford is suspended after being sent off in the midweek Carling Cup defeat to Luton. This means that Keane could bring on 17-year-old Michael Kay here.
Other players such as Paul McShane and Kieran Richardson are doubtful with shoulder and back problems respectively, while Dean Whitehead (knee) and Carlos Edwards (hamstring) are definitely out of the side.
I will go for Manchester United to get the win here and give the 1 3/4 ball here. Watch out for Carlos Tevez to his the target here.
Cheers and good luck,
