Things could have been different had Sevilla scored from the pnalty spot which they missed in the last minute.
Barcelona were not impressive in their friendly preparations and last season they were also beaten by Real Madrid twice in the Super Cup.But Barcelona will then go on to win the La Liga without much problems. You can expect Barcelona to start with a strong side in this match and there were no newcomers in their side in the latest transfer window.
Alaves:
They had a very bad start to their season last time out as they were without any points in the standings after six matches played. And after ten rounds, they only had three points then. They were at the bottom at one stage before they reorganized their team and avoided relegation. Now they will want to avoid such a bad start once again this season, but they will not be happy to get such a bad fixture list to face the reigning Champions and away in their first match. Their last three meetings at the Nou Camp went well and they even managed to win once there.
Coach Abelardo were appointed as coach in December and he managed to change things around. They had a lot of players leaving the side, especially those whose loan deals have expired. They kept the majority of their starting eleven from last season, with the exception that we will now see Jony from Malaga starting this match. Other then that center-back Navarro will also start as Ely is out injured.

Barcelona won home and away last season, but at the Nou Camp they won only by 2-1.
