In their last match before the break they lost to a weak Rayo Vallecano side by 2-1 which means they had to go off for the break on a losing note. After the defeat to FC Barcelona, Coach Lopez made a lot of changes in the starting eleven, but that did not helped either.
As for the team news, they will not have the services of midfielder Rochin as he is suspended.
FC Girona:
They also played poorly before the break, but overall they can be happy with their performances. They are quite far from the relegation zone and are somewhere in the middle of the standings, in ninth spot to be exact. However, they are now four rounds without a win, with two draws which they have often play this season.
They had a difficult schedule and one of the two draws was against Atletico Madrid, and after that they lost to Athletic Bilbao and Sevilla. Just before the winter break, they played a draw with Getafe and it was two points dropped. However, they were losing for most periods of the match, so they were saved from defeat in the last moments of that game.
After their defeat against Sevilla, they made changes in their starting eleven. Against Getafe, Douglas Luiz and Fernandez was not in the starting lineup and Garcia and Granell played instead. Their problem is scoring goals this season. Interestingly their goal against Getafe was scored by Bernardo who plays in defence. Their striker is Stuani but he is finding it hard to score goals at the moment.
As for the team news, midfielder Pons is injured and he will miss this match, while Muniesa could be recalled to the starting lineup.
