Recent back-to-back defeats in the Brazilian top flight have resulted in Gremio slipping out of the top four of the Serie A table but the hosts have a great opportunity to set the record straight on home soil at their Arena do Grêmio on Thursday night when they play host to relegation threatened Goias.

Recent defeats to Santos, Atletico Mineiro and Cruzeiro have prevented Goias from lifting themselves out of the relegation zone in Serie A while the bigger picture hasn’t done the visitors any favours either as Goias have managed to capture just two wins from their previous 16 league matches.
These two wins were against the likes of Sao Paulo and Coritiba but having also slipped to seven defeats within this period, the omens do not look particularly promising for Goias ahead of Thursday’s clash.
