Lorient finally put an end to a previously miserable 10-game winless run in Ligue 1 last weekend with a 2-1 win away from home at Metz and the hosts will now be looking to build upon last week’s win when they return to their Stade du Moustoir for this upcoming clash against Reims.
League wins have been hard to come by for Lorient so far this season as the hosts have managed to collect just three wins to date which have been captured against Lille, Rennes and the aforementioned Metz, the former two victories were achieved on home soil.
Results at home in recent times have also been disappointing though for Lorient as the hosts have failed to win any of their last five games but the hosts have lost just four of their last 11 home games.
Reims dropped out of the top six pack in the Ligue 1 table following a 3-2 loss at home to Toulouse which ended a promising three-game unbeaten run in the domestic top flight which consisted of two wins and a draw.
Wins against Le Havre and Monaco along with a point earned in a draw with Nantes had seemingly placed Reims in a good position to push on and make a challenge for a European spot next season but last week’s defeat will have taken the wind out of their sails somewhat.
The visitors have also found it difficult to string together any sort of decent sequence of results though as Reims have managed to capture just three wins out of their last nine matches overall, two of which were recorded on home soil at their Stade Auguste-Delaune.
However, results away from home have also been pretty inconsistent where Reims have been concerned as the visitors have lost three of their last four games on the road with losses at Rennes, Nice and Lens.
