Le Havre made it two wins in three games in the French top flight last weekend when the hosts registered a 2-0 win away from home at Nantes and the hosts return to their Stade Océane for this upcoming clash against Angers on Sunday afternoon.
A previous 1-0 home win over Montpellier was Le Havre’s other recent success in Ligue 1 but results overall in the past couple of months for Didier Digard’s side have been pretty ordinary as the hosts have also been handed no fewer than seven defeats within their last nine matches overall.
Three of these seven losses have been incurred on home soil at the Stade Océane with the hosts slipping to disappointing defeats at the hands of Lille, Lyon and Reims respectively and further problems could unfold here on Sunday afternoon.
Angers have also tasted defeats in recent times in the French top flight as the visitors have succumbed to losses against PSG and Auxerre respectively, but the away side will have reason to be fairly confident ahead of this upcoming trip to the Stade Océane.
Indeed, Angers had previously put together a four-match unbeaten sequence in the domestic top flight which consisted of wins picked up against Saint-Etienne and Monaco along with useful points gained by way of draws with Marseille and Toulouse, both of which were achieved on their travels.
With just three losses handed to them in their previous nine games overall in Ligue 1, Angers look capable of at least holding their own here and perhaps gaining a point on the road as the visitors look to pull themselves out of the bottom three of the Ligue 1 table.
