Verona made it three games unbeaten in Serie A last weekend when the hosts picked up a point in a 1-1 draw away from home at Torino which also makes it five points collected from their last three games overall as the hosts continue to put further distance between themselves and the bottom three clubs.
However, results overall so far this season in the Italian top flight have been fairly underwhelming where Verona have been concerned as the hosts have managed to capture just three wins from the turn of the new year, along with being dealt six defeats and being involved in four stalemates.
Two of Verona’s aforementioned three wins were actually collected on the road with victories at Monza and Udinese, while on home soil, Verona have struggled for league wins, picking up just one win in their last nine games.
Genoa currently occupy 12th place in the Serie A table and the visitors bring a mixed bag of results into this Sunday afternoon’s clash at the Stadio Marcantonio Bentegodi having picked up four wins, three draws but also three defeats as well in their last 10 games overall.
It is worth noting though that all four wins that Genoa have registered in recent times have been achieved on home soil at their Stadio Comunale Luigi Ferraris, while each of the three losses incurred have been away from home with losses at Fiorentina, Inter Milan and Juventus.
Indeed, Genoa have now failed to win any of their last seven away games in Serie A which consists of three draws and four defeats, so they too are by no means guaranteed the three points here.
