Horst Steffen’s side couldn’t ask for a better momentum boost heading into Bochum. Confidence is high, the squad is tight, and they proved they can grind out results when needed.

I know VfL Bochum looked absolutely rattled last weekend, but this feels like a big bounce-back spot.
Getting smacked 4-1 by SV Darmstadt 98 was rough, no question, but this squad isn’t that bad. There’s still enough firepower in this team, and the pressure from the home fans should push them to respond hard.
SV Elversberg did a solid job beating Nurnberg last week, and they’ll come in with some belief. But I still think VfL Bochum, man for man, have more quality. If they clean up those defensive mistakes, they should be able to edge this one.
