Cagliari picked up a valuable three-point haul in Monday night’s Serie A action with a 2-0 win away from home at Verona which in turn has not only helped the hosts up into 14th place in the Serie A table but also an eight-point cushion above the relegation zone with just four games remaining.
Results overall have remained something of a mixed bag though for Davide Nicola’s side as the upcoming hosts have managed to collect just five wins from their last 16 games in the Italian top flight but three of these five wins have been registered on home soil at Unipol Domus with wins against Lecce, Parma and Monza.
Results at home have also been fairly inconsistent this season which is underlined by a home record that stands at 5-4-8 20/26 but Nicola’s side will fancy their chances of gaining a result against an equally inconsistent Udinese outfit.
Udinese dropped down to 12th place in the Serie A table after their winless run in the domestic top flight was extended to seven games following a 0-0 draw at home with Bologna on Monday.
The visitors have also been handed no fewer than five defeats within these last seven games which have seen Kosta Runjaić’s side slip to losses at the hands of Verona, Inter Milan, Genoa, AC Milan and Torino respectively.
Perhaps even more worrying for Udinese is the fact that the visitors have also failed to score in five of these seven games which may well increase the pressure upon the away side’s flagging confidence.
To make matters worse, Udinese have registered just one win in their last eight games on the road in Serie A, slipping to four defeats.

Both Cagliari and Udinese have struggled for consistency but the hosts might just sneak a narrow win here.
