Colorado Rapids will be eager to snap a three-game losing streak in the MLS on the weekend when they return to their Dick's Sporting Goods Park to take on Real Salt Lake in an all-Western Conference clash following recent losses to DC United, San Jose Earthquakes and San Diego respectively.
Colorado have managed to muster just four wins from their last 19 appearances in the MLS which includes victories gained over the likes of Austin and San Jose Earthquakes, both of which were away from home, along with wins collected on home turf against Charlotte and San Diego.
The hosts have slipped to 11 defeats within these previous 19 games though, but coach Chris Armas will be hoping his side can buck the trend at Dick's Sporting Goods Park and claim the all-important three points.
Real Salt Lake sit one position below but also two points adrift of their upcoming hosts Colorado Rapids ahead of this road trip on the weekend and they too have produced a sequence of indifferent results in the MLS in recent times.
Indeed, Real Salt Lake have managed to pick up just four wins within their opening 13 games of this new season courtesy of victories against Seattle Sounders, Houston Dynamo, LA Galaxy and San Diego respectively, but the visitors have also been dealt seven defeats as well.
Perhaps even more telling is that Real Salt Lake have already lost four of their opening seven outings on the road whilst recording just two wins, while results away from home in general have been pretty disappointing.
Pablo Mastroeni’s side have managed to muster just four wins in their previous 19 road trips whilst slipping to eight defeats as well.
