Philadelphia Union collected a fifth win in six games in the American MLS over the weekend thanks to a 1-0 win away from home at Atlanta United which has not only helped maintain pole position for the hosts in the Eastern Conference table but also the overall MLS table as well.
Recent victories against Atlanta United (home and away), DC United, Montreal and LA Galaxy respectively have kept Philadelphia Union just ahead on goal difference over 2nd placed FC Cincinnati heading into this upcoming weekend fixture against 6th placed Inter Miami at Subaru Park.
Results on home turf so far in this season’s MLS campaign have also been encouraging for The Union as Bradley Carnell’s side have been dealt just the single loss within their opening eight home games along with picking up five important wins.
Philly have lost just three of their last 15 home games.
Inter Miami have produced a few indifferent results in the MLS in recent weeks as the visitors have managed to pick up just two wins from their last eight matches overall, those being achieved in the form of wins against the likes of Columbus Crew and New York RB respectively.
However, the visitors have also been dealt three defeats in recent times as well, slipping to untimely losses at the hands of Dallas FC, Minnesota United and Orlando City, in 4-3, 4-1 and 3-0 defeats.
This means that Javier Mascherano’s side have shipped a total of 11 goals within these last three losses which does not appear to bode well for this upcoming trip to Subaru Park where they’ll be up against the Eastern Conference leaders.

Inter Miami have enjoyed the upper hand in previous exchanges, winning the last four meetings on the trot, but this could be Philadelphia Union’s chance of turning the tables on their upcoming opponents.
