Stronger finishing was needed and Ferencvaros could have earned a considerable advantage to bring home for the Second Leg of this Third Qualifying Round tie. Being at home will still feel like an edge for the Hungarian Champions, but there is work to do and the expectation is that there is a lot more to come from Ludogorets, who were a little disappointing in the First Leg.

However, the challenge is facing a Ferencvaros team that are unbeaten in 8 games in all competitions and who have won 6 times across that run. The side have won 4 in a row at home through the off-season and Ferencvaros have scored seven goals in winning both games hosted in the 2025/26 season.

These two clubs met four times in the 2019/20 season- Ferencvaros won both Champions League Qualifying ties, but they met again in the Europa League Group Stage and it was Ludogorets who took four points, including a 0-3 win here to pick up three of those points.

Prediction

The importance of home advantage should show up in this Third Qualifying Round tie in the Champions League, which is finely balanced after the goalless draw in Bulgaria last week.

Ludogorets have to be better than what they showed at home if they are going to pull the upset, but that looks a tough task against a Ferencvaros team who were uncharacteristically wasteful in the final third in the First Leg.

This past weekend, Ferencvaros were back to being a fruitful attacking team and they have now scored at least three goals in 3 of their last 4 games in all competitions. That includes the back and forth 4-3 win over Noah in the Second Qualifying Round Second Leg in a game that Ferencvaros led four times before finally overcoming that opponent.

The visitors have shown some toughness and resilience that will have to be respected, but Ludogorets may be forced to open up if they fall behind and that is where the attacking qualities of Ferencvaros should really shine through.

Upsets are never that far away in these early Qualifying Rounds, but the edge has to be with Ferencvaros who can win a game featuring at least two home goals.
