As expected, Verona lost 2-0 in Rome, as they always lose to big teams. We thought they won't lose by a handicap but oh well. 1-0 was the only score that would prevent that, as Verona is almost completely incapable of scoring.
They were even left scoreless in a home cup game against Venezia that they lost 0-1. If you don't count the goal from a wrongly awarded penalty kick against Juventus, then Verona scored a grand total of one goal in last six outings. Pushed the ball in after a corner kick.
It's not that Verona doesn't try, and their new Brazilian forward Giovani looks like a revelation, but somehow most of these chances don't have enough quality in them to actually produce a goal.
Sassuolo Team News
So Sassuolo defeated Udinese 3-1 against our expectations, but it was just one of those football games. Sassuolo sent the ball to the left wing twice in five minutes and the dude - Lauriente - made everything look so easy as if this was practice.
By the 12th minute the score was 2-0 for Sassuolo. It's difficult to recover from that, especially as the hosts immediately fell back to their own half. Although Udinese pegged one back near the hour mark, this game never looked like anything other than a home win.
It's difficult to claim that Sassuolo has any real quality whatsoever. But they're looking for simplistic solutions in offense, without trying to walk the ball into the net, and if you get the shot right that's a goal. Or three.

Verona has so far shown the inability to score - they have two goals scored in six rounds - and Sassuolo will play mostly defensively here. This is why we think the chances of this game erupting into a goal fest are really low.
