Como Team News
Como is undefeated since round two as they just took a point at Napoli with 0-0 after securing an important home win against Verona 3-1. The match against Verona was, in fact, the first time that Como won at home against a relegation candidate and it was the third attempt. Genoa and Cremonese both took a point with 1-1.
There are no more undefeated sides in Serie A, but Como is in the company of AC Milan and Atalanta, the only other sides to have one defeat so far.
Como is 7th on the league table, just behind Juventus, and this duel against Cagliari certainly looks like a good opportunity to propel Como into the top six, depending on other results. Bologna and Juventus, both at 18 points while Como has 17, can be overtaken.
Cagliari Team News
Cagliari, winless in six rounds, with four defeats during this span, seems to be losing steam. They couldn't even do well against the relegation candidates they've faced recently, most notably Verona and Sassuolo.
Cagliari was 2-0 down in Verona before managing to stage a dramatic comeback to 2-2, and then next week they were also 0-2 down to Sassuolo at home but only managed to score once for 1-2. This was also the fourth consecutive match in which Cagliari concedes twice.
The signs aren't good, so while Cagliari remains a tricky opponent to play against due to their comeback capabilities, they are also an opponent that doesn't seem to be too difficult to beat.
Probable Lineups
Como (4-2-3-1): Butez - Smolcic, Kempf, Ramon, Moreno - Perrone, Da Cunha - Vojvoda, Paz, Jesus Rodriguez - Morata. Coach Fabregas.
Cagliari (4-3-2-1): Caprile - Palestra, Mina, Ze Pedro, Idrissi - Adopo, Prati, Folorunsho - S.Esposito, Gaetano - Borelli. Coach Pisacane.
The Betting Market
Como was a 1.62 favourite against Verona and finally won a winnable match, the final score was 3-1. The bookmakers took notice and now they installed Como as a 1.48 favourite here against a relegation candidate that can't perform on the road.
However, Como isn't too comfortable dictating play as you might think. If the opponent is defensive, and Cagliari certainly will be, Como will be pushing stones uphill to create a good goalscoring chance.
Over 2.5 Goals is priced at 1.90 while the Both Teams To Score: YES bet will get you slightly higher odds of 2.00.
The Betting Verdict
The price on Como is ridiculously low so this market is best left alone. What we can be failry certain of is that this fixture will see goals, as that's what usually happens when these two sides meet.
Cagliari isn't an offensive power but they're a nasty little team that can score on the road against almost everyone. Also, Como seems to concede against bottom-half sides at home as they open up more than usual.
